The former Cardiff City supporter said on Friday that it was a dream to return to his boyhood club but having come away with a decent away point from a fairly even game, he believes the players are now so confident that anything less than a win feels like a failure.
Bristol have been touted by many as 'one-season-wonders' after getting themselves into the playoffs at the first attempt last season and Gary Johnson has consistently talked up his side's chances of making the top six once again. Although the City manager accepted that a point against Cardiff was probably a fair result, Williams insisted that it almost felt like two points dropped because of their expectations.
He told the Bristol Evening Post: "We should have taken all three points. We're disappointed not to have won, especially as we were the better team in the second half.
"Perhaps a draw was a fair result in the end, but we don't see it that way. I think that shows just how ambitious we are and how high we've set our sights this season."
