A bad kick from Maik Taylor allowed Trundle to net from long distance and even if it did not make a difference to the final outcome McLeish said Trundle caused his side problems,
"It was typical Trundle.
"He can always do something special but I never expected him to do anything like that. The goal was no more than the home side deserved after fighting back from a seemingly hopeless position."
Trundle has been unhappy with being left on the bench recently and was linked with a move back to Swansea before the transfer window closed. City boss Gary Johnson heaped praise upon Trundle for applying himself last night and McLeish went onto say,
"When I saw he was coming on I thought, 'Oh no, he's liable to do something special,' but I never thought he would do that. He's becoming notorious for that sort of finish."
