City go into the "local" derby on the back of a disappointing start and possibly the worst performance of them all at Bournemouth on Saturday, where by all accounts we did well to nick a point.
City Reserves were beaten 5-0 by Swindon Reserves today. The team was:
Ryan Harley
Mickey Bell
Craig Loxton
Darren Hawkins
Marc Goodfellow
Scott Brown
Kye Holly
Sekani Simpson
Jay Lucas
Joe Anyinsah
Subs: Flurry, Pearce, Hart Skuse,
So a strong side many of whom would expect to feature in the first team and others who are hoping to. Why did we get beaten 5-0 by
And Marc Goodfellow came off injured.
In other news: Tommy Doc was spotted out on the beer tonight (with a meal in a restaurant to be fair to him). More worryingly he had his ankle bandaged up. So Tinman returns in place of the Doc on Saturday? Apparently Doc did not have a good game at
.....and in addition to this Luke Wilkshires Australia are through to the Quarter Final of the Olympics despite losing 1-0 to Argentina, so no Luke for a while longer then.
The good news is that Mickey Bell survived 90 minutes with no problems.
Jamie Smith says that joining the side a week before the season meant thet he missed any pre-season training and is lacking match fitness. His confidenec will have been boosted by his goal on Saturday and he will be looking to increase his fitness levels match by match.
I would be tempted to start with Lee Miller in support of Heffernan and Lita. I would play a midfield of Anyinsah, Orr and Murray and have Woodman, Hill, Coles and Smith as the back four. If we stick with 4-3-3 it will reap rewards, but we need that target man and Miller is the best we've got. We could have Tinman, Gillespie, Bell and Fortune on the bench. There are still many other options.
Have I persuaded myself we will win? OF COURSE WE WILL!!!
