The 24-year-old will join up with the Robins squad for a short spell following a similar venture at the end of last season.
"He impressed us at the back end of last season and he'll be training with us so we can have a look at what he can offer us," City manager Gary Johnson told the club's official website.
"But we don't want to get anyone's hopes up just yet."
