The former Liverpool and Crewe defender injured an ankle in last weekend's 2-1 defeat to Derby and will undergo a scan this afternoon to determine his fitness to play at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
Although Roeder is bracing for a spell of not having the right back available if the injury is as feared, ligament damage he admits that losing the player would be a blow.
He told teamtalk.com: "We've had the scan results back and he is touch and go for the game at Bristol. It's unfortunate for him as he was playing well and was enjoying a good run in the team.
"Hopefully he'll be back in action sooner rather than later but we'll have to wait and see."
