Johnson targets October winning streak

BRISTOL City manager Gary Johnson has told his team to make October 'their' month, if they want to seal promotion in seven months time.

City's players will have had to wait a full 14 days to try and erase memories of their 3-0 defeat to Sheffield United at Bramall Lane last week, and Johnson's men need three points to close a 13 point gap to Birmingham City who lead the way in the Championship.

City's incredible run to the playoffs last season came off the back of a great run of games unbeaten, and although he refused to use the 'P' word Johnson feels his side can more than hold their own in this division if they use good results in October as a springboard,

"We've got some very important games coming up and October could prove to be a very big month,"
Johnson told the official website,

"We've got to get our heads down and work hard. I'm doing what I need to do to prepare the players in the best possible way," he continued.

Bristol face Norwich, Charlton, Barnsley and Sheffield United in quick succession during the next 17 days.
