Styles was demoted for the Premiership after incurring the wrath of Joe Kinnear for sending off Habib Baye in Newcastle's 2-2 draw with Manchester City last monday after television replays showed he made the wrong decision.
This week Styles was once again involved in a penalty row as Bristol City were denied a penalty during their 0-0 draw with Sheffield United last night.
The referee waved away claims for a penalty when Ugo Ehiogu appeared to handle a Stern John shot in the area and while Sheffield United refused to comment on the incident, the loanee City striker felt his side were denied a glorious oppertunity to take the lead,
"It was a definite handball. Ugo used his arm to block the ball and admitted as much to me afterwards on the pitch. But the linesman was unsighted and the referee wasn't in the best position to give it.
"It's frustrating, but these things happen in football and there's nothing we can do about it."
"The only people who knew it was a penalty was Ugo and me. And the crowd!"
