City started the season badly in the last campaign but finished strongly and even came close to snatching a play-off spot. But Jevons is certain this season will prove a success.
"Bristol City are a big club and if we can get off to a good start we'll take some stopping," he told the club's official website.
"City is the sort of club where there is always optimism in the build up to a season. But this year I believe we have a really strong squad and I'm not alone in feeling really excited about our chances."
The former Yeovil and Everton striker will face stiff competition from Enoch Showunmi, Steve Brooker and David Cotterill for a starting berth next season but that hasn't dampened his enthusiasm.
"All the lads are bubbling and can't wait for the season to get underway. I think it will be a tight league again, but we certainly stand as good a chance as anyone."
