After just avoiding the drop last year, many have predicted that Blackpool will struggle and whilst the Seasiders manager accepts that it will be difficult for his much changed side to adapt to playing Championship football he was satisfied with the way his team played.
He told BBC.co.uk: "To lose any game in the last minute is always going to be disappointing. Many people have us down as relegation certainties and I am sure that will galvanise my players even more."
"We played ever so well and created a lot of chances against a side which was one game away from the Premier League last season. We were the side that got the ball down on the deck and passed it around."
