Bristol City assistant manager Keith Millen says the club are still hoping to add to their squad before the start of the Championship season.Steve Coppell's side have experienced a disappointing pre-season so far, having suffered three defeats in the space of a week.

Millen told BBC Radio Bristol: "It's unbelievable how difficult it has been this summer.

"Hopefully it will be busy in the next week or so."

Defeats to Torquay United, Exeter City and Aldershot have emphasised the need for City to bring in more recruits, with Bradley Orr and Paul Hartley on their way to QPR and Hearts respectively.

Millen added: "With the squad we have, you would like to think that we would be good enough to win those games.

"Aldershot was probably the poorest performance and we weren't very happy with that but there was some good stuff against Exeter.

"With the chances we missed, the result wasn't really a true reflection of the game.

Lets treat SC as the "next level" give him time and support to get his plans in place for an assault on the Prem.

"But we haven't been able to field our strongest side yet. Probably the only good thing is that the manager has had the chance to see all the players in different formations."

City travel to Yeovil Town on Wednesday night before meeting Premier League newcomers Blackpool at Ashton Gate on Saturday.
